His expertise spans complex and minimally invasive spine surgery — including spinal robotics and endoscopic techniques — as well as advanced care for conditions of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves.
Having attained both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees within four years at Yale University, Dr. Nkrumah earned his MD and PhD at Albert Einstein College of Medicine — receiving the prestigious Dean's Award — before completing residency training at Johns Hopkins and Emory University, and fellowship training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
Beyond his surgical work, Dr. Nkrumah has authored publications in microbiology, immunology, and genetics. He speaks English and Twi (an Akan language of Ghana) and enjoys soccer, martial arts, and time outdoors with family and friends.
